PDQ ThumbWare
I am unable to HotSync, what should I do? >A. First, make sure that Hot Sync Manager is running; this is the little icon at the bottom-right of your computer screen that looks like a blue and red circle with arrows. Second, make sure your PDA is properly connected to your computer with the cable/cradle. Third, make sure your PDA is properly charged. If these suggestions do not work, call the Quick Notes technical support staff for assistance. HotSync seems to be working, but I cannot see the Status Box? >A. Make sure that QpLoader, the satellite dish icon, appears in the lower-right corner of your computer monitor. This is the program that connects PDQ and Q'Notes with 2-way communication. How do you restart the QpLoader (satellite dish)? >A. On the Q'Runner Taskbar, the last button on the right will restart QpLoader. I did notes on PDQ, then HotSynced, but I cannot find my notes? >A. First, make sure QpLoader is running and when you Hot Sync, be sure the Status Box shows up. Click again on the "View Last Download button. Check a patient record to see if today's note is there. If not, you will need to call the Quick Notes technical support staff. How do I add new patients on the PDQ? >A. Officially, you must add patients into Q'Notes and then send them to PDQ. However, if you need to do a note for a patient that is not on your PDA, you can tap on the "New Patient" button in PDQ, and the program will add the next available Z# for your patient. This allows you to do a note. How do I review past notes on the PDA? >A. You can enter the program called Q'Card and search for the patient by name. If you are in a note in PDQ, and you wish to review the most recent notes, you can enter Q'Card from the menu screens by tapping on the little icon at the center-bottom of the screen that looks like "<<<.>>>". How does the Update Note feature work? >A. Currently available in PDQ Chiropractic, Update Note retrieves the patient's previous note and uses some of the data to make your next note. First, you must have the feature turned on in PDQ; to do so, tap on the Menu Button, then System and System Settings to turn on the feature. Second, you must go into a new note, and tap on the "Follow up" button twice to trigger Update Note. This will bring the data into the new note and all the buttons will be pre-selected same as the last note. You can review the info, kepp it or change it as needed. Update note doesn't seem to be working properly? >A. You must be sure that you have hot synced at least 2 times, once to get the past note to the computer where it will be processed and transcribed, and a second time to get the completed note back to PDQ. If you haven't hot synced 2x since the last visit, Update Note may not work. Also, you need to be sure the proper items you expect to Update are turned on. Can I send a batch of patient names or past notes to PDQ? >A. In WinView, you can send all your patients to PDQ by going to the Patient List, right-clicking in the list, and selecting "Add All Names to PDA". If you are sending names and notes, you must first put the notes into the Q'Notes screen (either for a single patient or for a date-range or group of patients). Once the notes are in the Q'Notes list, the click on the "Print" button and select either Names or Notes to the PDA. Typically, you will "merge" these names/notes with those that are already in PDQ. How do you modify a button in PDQ? >A. First, select the button in PDQ and determine the code, by tapping on the "File" button on your PDA, then select "Main" and tap on "Set-up Q'Codes. Then at your computer, open up the Q'Codes Manager screen, and type the Q'Code in the "Search" field. This will bring up the text box for the Q'Code. Make the necessary changes, then click on "Save". When completed, click on "File" link and select "Export to PDQ". Then HotSync and your changes will be sent to PDQ. You can even name the Button in PDQ by adding [=myname] to the beginning of the Qcode's text. What PDA models does Quick Notes support for PDQ? >A. Current models include the Palm Zire, the Palm Tungsten, the Lifedrive, and the Palm-based Treo cel phones. PDQ also works on some newer Sony Clie models. Can I use a Tablet or Touchscreen for PDQ? >A. You can run Q'Notes and Doc-Q-Manager programs on your Tablet. PDQ does not have a touchscreen functionality. There is an emulator program, "PDA Reach", that will place an image of your PDA on a tablet when the PDA is connected to your tablet; then you can use a tablet and PDQ. How do I order an additional PDA with PDQ for an additional user? >A. Call the Quick Notes sales department, and we can ship to you a PDA, plus the necessary software. There is a small "licensing" fee for using PDQ on an additional PDA. Can I bring my PDA to a satellite office, or home, and do notes? >A. Absolutely.
